Job Description: Ecommerce Demand Forecasting Analyst

Top Skills:
• Data collection and organization: Ability to gather, categorize, and organize promotional data from various sources.
• Baseline sales forecasting: Proficiency in utilizing historical sales data and applying time series forecasting techniques to establish accurate sales forecasts.
• Price elasticity analysis: Strong understanding of conducting price elasticity analysis for different product categories and price points, and developing a standardized menu of sales lift multipliers for use in order forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Organization
o Gather and organize promotional data from internal system sources
o Categorize promotions based on themes (e.g. national promotions, members-only offers, product bundles etc)
o Develop a centralized data repository for easy access and analysis
- Baseline Sales Forecasting
o Utilize historical sales data and appropriate time series forecasting techniques to establish sales forecasts.
o Assist in cleansing promotional lifts from the baseline forecast to ensure accuracy
o Support the development a weekly rolling forecast that incorporates baseline sales and promotional impacts
- Price Elasticity Analysis
o Conduct comprehensive price elasticity analysis for different product categories and price points
o Calculate sales lift multiplier based on historical data and promotional performance.
o Develop a standardized menu of sales lift multipliers to be used in order forecasting.
- Reporting and Analysis
o Prepare regular reports on demand forecasts, promotional performance
o Conduct ad-hoc analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in demand forecasting, preferably in an ecommerce or retail environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in data analysis tools such as Excel and SQL.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with ecommerce platforms and promotions tools is a plus.

Bonus
- Experience using forecasting techniques like ARIMA, Prophet, exponential smoothing
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, Tableau, Adobe Analytics
