Legal 1 ( Litigation Administrator)

Schedule: In office Monday through Thursday; work-from-home Friday.

Summary:
The main function of Legal is to represent clients in litigation and other legal proceedings, draw up legal documents, or manage/advise clients on legal transactions.

Job Responsibilities:
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school required. Must be licensed to practice law in the applicable state/province.
0-2 years of legal experience required.

Skills:
Represent clients in court or before government agencies.
Present evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.
Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
Present and summarize cases to judges and juries.
Prepare legal briefs and opinions, and file appeals.

Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
Advanced knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, and government regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Litigation Administrator will be responsible for managing the Client’s litigation docket, which includes class actions, commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, product liability cases, small claims cases, and agency/administrative matters.
This role will ensure that the Client Litigation team is hitting all the marks in its defense of the brand.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage litigation case docket, ensuring timely and accurate tracking of all litigation proceedings, including class actions, product liability, commercial litigation, and small claims cases in federal and state court.
• Assist in monitoring and updating case progress, ensuring all tasks are completed within required timelines.
• Perform timely data entry and maintain organized records of case-related documents and information.
• Support responses to elevated consumer complaints.
• Manage outside counsel administrative matters.
• Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and other support staff to ensure seamless case management.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to litigation processes.
• Maintain accurate records of all litigation-related activities for auditing and reporting purposes.

Qualifications:
• Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree. Focus on law, business administration, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
• Strong interest in law is a plus, but not required.
• Submission of a writing sample.

Skills:
• Highly organized.
• Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently, including when handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Possess a strong attention to detail, but also the ability to identify critical aspects of a task or project, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness, while efficiently filtering out unnecessary information.
• Communicate effectively and concisely orally and in writing.
• Ability to pivot from working independently to part of a fast-paced team.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and One Note.
• Basic understanding of litigation process and/or legal terms is a plus, but not required.
