Overview


The Windows Specialist role is responsible for supporting and enhancing Physical Security CCURE application, operating system, and infrastructure operations.
This role emphasizes cyber and physical security and requires deep technical expertise in Windows Server, MS SQL Server, Active Directory, and industry-standard networking practices.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in regulatory compliance, automation, and incident response within a highly sensitive financial environment.

Key Accountabilities:
• Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments.
• Manage Active Directory, including design, maintenance, group policy (GPO), authentication, and permission controls.
• Oversee MS SQL Server operations, including deployments, security patching, monitoring, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
• Maintain and enhance virtualized environments.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot firewall appliances.
• Implement and enforce security protocols, such as endpoint protection, firewalls, antivirus, SIEM, and vulnerability management.
• Coordinate with physical security teams for integration of access control, CCTV, and badge systems.
• Maintain backup solutions and recovery plans for data protection and business continuity.
• Ensure compliance with financial industry standards: PCI DSS, SOX, GLBA, ISO 27001, and NIST frameworks.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, policies, procedures, and architectural diagrams.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for users and IT teams.

Must Have Requirements:
• 3+ years of administration experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and MS SQL Server.
• Hands-on knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI model, firewalls, VPNs) and hardware (routers, switches).
• Direct experience with virtualization (Proxmox/Hyper-V, VMware) and PowerShell automation.
• Competency in monitoring and performance optimization tools.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and audit-support for security controls.
• Strong analytical problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves:
• Familiarity with physical security systems, integration with IT infrastructures.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with cyber and physical security teams.
• Up-to-date on emerging cyber threats, risk management, and best security practices.
• Commitment to process improvement and automation.
• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS/Azure, Microsoft 365) is a plus.
• Certifications preferred: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, CCNA, CISSP, Security+, ITIL Foundation.
• Prior financial services institution experiences a plus.

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
